Personal Development & work opportunities

We’re really excited for our 2026 event calendar! This year we want to help you get that coaching certificate you wanted, that work experience you needed or even that opportunity to give back to your community.

 

All whilst being recognised for your valuable input to our growing CPSARA Community!

 

This year we're organising coaching courses for you as well as giving you the opportunity to join our committee in a meaningful way or work at some of our CPSARA events as an athlete ambassador.

 

We have four new CPSARA opportunities for you to get involved with in 2026. They include:

- Committee Sports Representative

- Subsidised Coaching Course

- Coaching Roles at CPSARA Connect Days and Disability Sports Australia Day

- Casual Event Management Staff

Committee Sports Representatives

 

2026 is the year to build and support our current members. We have created this role for current members for work experience in a committee. We want to hear more from our members and are looking for members passionate about their sport and supporting the growth of Para Sport in their community. We are also wanting younger voices in the committee to build into 2027 with our new programs in 2026.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly reports for CPSARA committee about your sport

    • Upcoming events

    • Members results at previous events 

  • Recruiting people in your sport for CPSARA membership

    • Athletes with CP or other neurological conditions

    • Coaches who are interested in Para Sport

    • Physios and other health professional 

    • 1-2 new members per month (on average)

Qualifications

  • Must be a CPSARA member

  • Age 15 +

  • Must be able to work ‘ad hoc’ hours 

  • Have an ABN - successful applicants will be supported in application process

  • Have a TFN - successful applicants will be supported in application process

 

Benefits

  • Successful applicants will be supported by current CPSARA Ambassadors

  • Flexible around athlete commitments

  • Explain what events you have coming up this season

  • What event you would want to see for CPSARA in 2027 (our 2026 calendar is pretty full!)

Subsidised Coaching Courses Opportunity  EOI

Want to become a qualified coach to give back to your community? We want to help! Tell us what sport you would like to get qualified for and we’ll get you involved in a coaching course near you. CPSARA can subsidise your involvement and offer potential future opportunities!

Please submit the below form by the 30th April to be considered.

Coaching at CPSARA Connect Days and Disability Sports Australia Day​

​

We have some days coming up to support people with disabilities to try para sports (sometimes for the first time!). We have an opportunity for you as a coach to support CPSARA to grow! You’ll work closely with the CPSARA committee and other event ambassadors to coach small groups of people with disability in your chosen sport at several events across NSW; including CPSARA Connect Days, Disability Sports Australia ‘Abilities Unleashed’ days and new expo events with Westfield.

 

Not a qualified coach yet but want to be? Fill out our coaching course EOI form to see how we can help you get qualified?

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Preparation

    • Create coaching plans based on group numbers, ages and disability types

  • Connect Days

    • Set up and pack down your sports activity - we can provide support

    • Coach several small groups throughout the day: Usually 4-5 groups of 25 minute sessions

  • Debrief

    • Tell us how you think it went and how we can improve

 

Qualifications

  • Must be a CPSARA member

  • Have a coaching accreditation recognised by your sport

  • Can do your activity on ‘dry land’ / indoors

  • Age 15 +

  • Must be able to work ‘ad hoc’ hours 

  • Have an ABN - successful applicants will be supported in application process

  • Have a TFN - successful applicants will be supported in application process

 

Benefits

  • Successful applicants will be supported by current CPSARA Ambassadors

  • Event management work experience

  • Coaching experience 

  • Flexible around athlete commitments

Casual Event Management Staff​

​

We have many great collaborative programs coming up this year and we need more casual event management staff to support CPSARA to grow! You’ll work closely with the CPSARA committee and other event ambassadors to deliver several events across NSW; including CPSARA Connect Days, Disability Expo Stalls and new expo events with Westfield.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Preparation

    • Event promotion through social media and emails

  • Connect Days

    • Event set up 

    • Supporting sports to set up

    • Check in participants

    • Engage with participants 

  • Expo Events (Westfield Promotions for Paralympics/Disability Expos/Etc)

    • Event stall set up

    • Talking to public about your sporting experience

    • Promote CPSARA and Paralympics to public 

    • Event stall pack down

 

Qualifications

  • Must be a CPSARA member

  • Age 15 +

  • Must be able to work ‘ad hoc’ hours 

  • Have an ABN - successful applicants will be supported in application process

  • Have a TFN - successful applicants will be supported in application process
