GETTING STARTED

At CPSARA, we aim to support our members to find their sport or recreational activity and support them through every step of that journey. Some sports can be competitive and lead to international competitions including the Paralympics. We know that sometimes it's hard to find your sport, so we are excited to be able to promote these programs.

The Start Line is Paralympic Australia's go-to website to see if you have a disability that is classifiable for the Paralympics and will list some sports you could be involved in.

Disability Sports Australia's website lists all the national bodies across Australia that provide adaptive sports. These aren't always elite pathway sports and might just provide activities for fitness, fun and friendship. Although, competition doesn't have to lead to Paralympics and some sports have other competition and recreational pathways.

Check out both options below:

The Start Line is Paralympics Australia’s dedicated home for information, guidance and opportunities for thriving Para-athletes to begin or continue their Paralympic specific sporting journeys to represent Australia on the global stage.

This list features National Sport Organisations that run programs for people with disability. Each link goes to their website for the latest information on how to get involved. These sports have disability-specific or mainstream (able bodied that include people with disabilities) pathways.

We would love to be a part of your adaptive sports journey, whether that is supporting you to find your favourite sport or supporting you on your journey through our Mentoring Program. We provide our Connect Days to connect you with your sport but we would love to stay a part of your story. Join our CPSARA community for free and stay connected here:
